How fast can you actually change the weight on the 24 Pro?
About one second, using the QuickAlter dial mechanism. You set the weight by rotating the handle before you lift, and the tray holds whatever plates you did not select. There are no pins to insert, no collars to screw, and no plates to carry across the room.
For home gym sessions where you are moving between exercises, that speed makes a real difference. If you want a dedicated stand for the tray rather than leaving it on the floor, PowerBells sells dumbbell stands separately.
What is the handle made from, and does it affect grip during heavy sets?
The handle is 7075 space-grade alloy, which is the same material used in aerospace applications. It is notably stiffer and lighter than the cheaper aluminium alloys used in entry-level adjustable dumbbells, and the grip does not flex or creak under load.
That rigidity matters more as the weight goes up -- at 4 or 8kg you would barely notice, but at 20 or 24kg a handle that flexes or twists changes how a set feels. The plates use a bake-painted finish that resists chipping through normal use. Is the 24 Pro sold as a pair or a single dumbbell?
It is sold as a pair. You get two 24kg adjustable dumbbells and two base trays. The trays are part of the adjustment mechanism, so you need them in place when selecting the weight. They double as the storage footprint for each dumbbell between sets.

Can I use the 24 Pro for floor exercises, or do I need a bench?
You can use them for any floor-based exercise: rows, curls, lateral raises, lunges, and Romanian deadlifts. A bench opens up pressing and incline work, but it is not required to get solid use out of the 24 Pro.
